Stanthorpe

Lovely cool summer weather, country hospitality and great food and wine were all on offer at the 2009 Queensland Information Centres Association held in Stanthorpe. 54 delegates from all over Queensland attended and had a great time networking and receiving industry presnetations on topics such as motivating volunteers, marketing, preparing awards submissions, etc. The conference again received great feedback from all that attended.

The Conference also saw the holding of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority VIC of the Year Awards. Our thanks to all those Information Centres that entered the awards this year ~ the competition was hot. Congratulations to those that took out their categories.

We would like to offer big thanks to Roseanne Fritz, Conference Organiser, of Granite Belt Wine & Tourism Inc for all the hard work and effort she put into to organising this fantastic conference. We should also recognise the contribution of Russ, Roseanne's husband, her volunteered his time to assist in the organisation and act as conference MC.

A big thanks also goes to all of our speakers who gave up their time to travel to Stanthorpe. Their presentations gave valuable information to old hands and newbies alike.
