A beautiful Western Red cedar tasting room in a peaceful environment with a vineyard setting. Light lunches are available, but advance bookings (4 days please) are essential.

The 3 meals and wines are: Pate Maison with Wood fired Foccacia - Blackcurrants introduce a subtle hint of sweetness to the classic blend of chicken livers and calvados topped with cassis jelly complimented by 2006 Verdelho (85ml). Three Cheese Tart and Mesclun Salad - A light and savoury combination of Parmesan, cheddar and creamy blue baked over flaky pastry complimented by our 2004 Chardonnay (85ml). Smoked peppered Beef - Thinly sliced Killarney eye fillet from the wood smoker is accompanied by wonderful local dill pickles and a tasty horseradish cream, complimented by our 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon. Description

I've been making wines for 18 years. After qualifying at Elsenberg, Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 1988, I travelled the wine regions of Europe and Australia culminating in a vintage under the famous Murray Tyrell at Tyrells' in the Hunter Valley.

Upon returning to South Africa, I was appointed Winemaker at Onverwacht Wine Estate in the Western Cape, where I spent 2 years.

Upon immigrating to Australia in 1992, I made award winning wines at Capel Vale Wines and Wise Winery in the Margaret River Region of Western Australia until 1997.

The desire to produce my own wines, brought me to the Granite Belt in 1998. After a stint at Ballandean Estate, I formed my own contract wine making company, Ravens Croft Wines Pty Ltd.

I now produce my own label, Ravens Croft Wines, while still making wine for my contractors.
